Background Narrative
John helps people and visionary organizations use humanity as a strategic advantage. In his presentations and in his book he provides the tools that help anyone become a PhB (Professional Human Being). This means individuals, businesses large and small, and entrepreneurs alike can achieve personal fulfillment and more sustainable profitability.
Senior management or salesperson, Human Resources pro or regional rep, Bean's program takes each individual on a positive track of value preparation by utilizing integrity, practicing humility, tapping into our own core principles, building the framework for success by helping others, and finally finding our own "highest and best use"-our higher purpose-letting go and living!
John was a Dramatic Arts major at Amherst College in Massachusetts, and began his working life as an entertainer, giving concerts and performing in clubs from coast to coast, in Mexico, and the Virgin Islands. After serving in the United States Army for two years, he decided to enter the world of business.
In the investment advisory business for most of his career, he was in a unique position to observe, study, and serve people and businesses. He built a large book of business and established his own investment management firm.
Midway through his business career, John Bean suffered the kind of business setback that rocks you to your core. Caught in the real estate debacle brought on by the Tax Reform Act of 1986, he found himself on the brink of bankruptcy. While an agonizing time of his life, it taught him those things that are truly important.
In addition to establishing his own firm, he helped initiate investment advisory practices at two national financial services firms. He went on to have investment responsibility for over half a billion dollars under management.
At a time when many people contemplate retirement, John launched a new career as a certified coach, speaker, and author.
His focus is on humanity at work. The central question is, "Why do we do what we do?" Is it just for money? For the numbers? For prestige?
Don't all of us want something more than mere material abundance?
In a society where the system seems more important than the people it's supposed to serve, John demonstrates that humanity is not only desirable but also a strategic advantage to those who practice it.
His background in the entertainment business makes his presentations highly engaging, and his experience in the world of sales and business make then highly practical and useful.
